Frequently asked questions

Customer photos of stairs are not always neat or showroom-ready. Can you still make them work?
Yes. Real staircases often include old carpet, worn edges, shadows or uneven side areas. For edge-to-edge carpet visualisation, we can create a cleaner line along the side of the staircase so the new carpet looks properly finished. For stair runners, we can also apply a colour or wood effect to the exposed sides, helping the whole staircase look tidier and more presentable.
Can customers visualise stair runners as well as full-width stair carpet?
Yes. The stair visualiser can show both edge-to-edge carpet and stair runners, depending on the product and the room image. Runners can be shown with exposed stair edges, helping customers compare a full carpeted look with a more decorative runner style.
Can the visualiser show binding?
Yes, where required. Binding or a finished edge can be shown on a stair runner as part of the presentation, so customers see the complete look rather than the carpet face alone.
Can I visualise a spiral staircase or a more complex staircase?
Not at the current time. Our stair visualisation works best with simpler straight staircases, photographed from the front or at a slight side angle. Spiral staircases, very curved stairs and complex multi-turn layouts are more difficult to visualise accurately, but we can advise on what is possible from your images.
What kind of staircase photo works best?
A clear photo taken from the bottom of the stairs usually works best, ideally with good lighting and as much of the staircase visible as possible. The stairs do not have to be perfect, but a clear view of the treads, risers and side edges helps produce a better visual result.

Stair visualisation works naturally alongside our flooring visualiser and rug visualiser, so customers can explore connected flooring, runners and room designs as part of the same platform.
